Alatria
- Star: G3(yellow dwarf) and M4(red dwarf)
- Gravity: 0.81 g
- tilt: 16°
- Rotation period: 31 hours
- plants color: bluish green
Alatria is second planet in orbit of Oizia, a bigger star of the binary system. The smaller star, the Night Star, stays in binary orbit with Oizia around 32 AU from it. While the heat Night Star provides to Alatria is insignificial, for most of the year it provides plenty of light, especially in the infrared spectrum, enough to illuminate the night with dim red comparable in brightness to full moon. This combined with the relatively long day-night cycle of Alatria caused most of its fauna to adapt to see further towards the infrared, including a non-nocturnal species.
Biosphere and Taxonomy
squamas.
squamas are large and diverse vetebrate-like class of Alatrias animals, characterized by:
- pangolin-like scales made mainly of chitin. Diverting heavy in size, shape and thickness, yet in most cases remaining not fully integrated into the skin. In some cases the scales became a large plate used for display and intimidation.
- multi-chamber lungs and four breathing holes placed on both sides of the neck.one pair inhaling the air, when the other exhales.
- six limbs.
- four eyes.
- four tongues, placed on each side of the mouth, splitting into many smaller growths/tendris.
- four whiskers as an olfactory organ, evolved from a misplaced tongue.
- a skeleton ending on the pelvis, without a place for a tailbone.
- egg-laying.
- a larva-stage.which moves through Amphibian-like metamorphosis. The larva's body moves through rapid and extensive changes, but does not dissolve completely. during metamorphosis unusually remain inactive, or minimally active and cover itself with protective mucus. larva is specialized towards growth, many of its organs are undeveloped, especially the brain. In large species, the larva will not reach full maturity upon metamorphosis, becoming only a juvenile or a teen.
It is worth noting that despite the larva stage originally evolving to give the child and adult different niches and let the child reach adulthood faster, in many modern squamas is heavily dependent on its parent who will take extensive care over it. Commonly the larva will spend its whole early life grasping onto the parent body, letting go only to be fed.

Wood mice.
squamas.
Wood mice are small scavenger species, with a mostly herbivorous diet. The front limbs are completely adapted for grabbing, to hold and transport food, and dig. They walk only using their middle and back limbs.
Their whiskers are quite big for their size, and they possess a strong sense of smell.
Their backs are also covered in small sensitive hairs that help with navigation and sensing danger.
Their larvae are worm-like. The middle and back limbs of larvae are nearly completely undeveloped, leaving only the front limbs functional, which are adapted for digging and cutting. Wood mice take no parental care over their larvae, instead females lay hundreds of eggs, where only few offspring survive into adulthood.
When the time comes wood mice make a burrow under weak, diseased and old trees and lay their eggs. The wood mice larva is a scavenger, feeding on everything from decaying matter,to leaves and wood. when chatechet will immediately begin to try to eat, digging through and eating the weak wood of the tree they were laid under.
When it grows enough it will find a safe place and begin the metamorphosis.
Wood mice were domesticated by arrnems and are wide-spread food sources. Their larvas are considered a delicacy.
